Huiru brings meaningful design ideas, solid professional design experiences, and discerning eyes to SITELAB . Her diverse experience across scales gives her a deep understanding of the intersections between urban design, public value, and communication. Huiru’s extensive project work experiences, which is centered around public life and community, demonstrate her ability to approach design with a collaborative, value-driven, people-centered, and learning-oriented mindset.

Huiru Shen holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from University of Virginia and a  Bachelor of Engineering in Landscape Architecture from Nanjing Tech University. During her academic pursuits, she was awarded the ASLA Student Honor Award and UVA International Student Academic Excellence Award.
